This past week, my girlfriend and I were set to put our dog in a typical pet hotel/boarding situation after having already booked the accommodation. We learned that this environment was less than ideal, especially for an energetic dog i.e. lots of time in the crate and a very congested space, so very last minute we started looking for other solutions. None of our friends or family were available to take our dog Honey in, and we found Nadia a.k.a. Paws by the Lake via Nextdoor. To say this was the best accident to ever happen would be an understatement!! From filling out the intake form to picking up Honey, the experience was warm and easy and it felt like we were giving Honey to somebody we’ve known for a long time. Nadia was extremely professional and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and so was Honey. We organized a meet and greet the day after completing the intake form where we made sure Honey, Cleo, and Roxy were all compatible. Roxy and Cleo are some of the sweetest dogs you’ve ever met. Once we dropped Honey off we were a little nervous, although from the meet and greet a lot of our questions were answered so the nervousness stemmed from it being our first time away from Honey more than anything else, but all of that subsided as Nadia sent detailed and frequent updates to the point where we thought Honey was having so much fun she wouldn’t want to come home lol! If you care about your dog, if you want them to have as much of a good time as you are while on your vacation, if you’re away or for whatever reason, Paws by the Lake would be my first and only recommendation. It will be better than any experience you could get elsewhere and at a very reasonable and affordable rate. We have nothing but kind things to say about Nadia and her boyfriend Akshay, who took Honey into their home like she was their own.
