Roxy is a protector through and through. She provides quick and effective, appropriate corrections (warning growls/body blocking) for poor manners, such as jumping, crowding, humping, and boundary-ignoring play and often comes to the defense of uncomfortable dogs being bothered by other dogs.
She may get overly excited when humans give her attention, but she is typically calm, friendly (and loves to play) with other dogs!
Unfortunately, late last year she was attacked by an off-leash dog and developed some reactivity towards "unpredictable" dogs, ones who aren't confident or obviously happy to see her. She's going through training to help her regulate her trauma-based emotions.
Roxy lying down with 9-month old Lucky who is a whopping 4 lbs!
A true sun bathing aficionado.
Cleo, short for Cleodora, is an enigma. Incredibly laid back but scarily intelligent, as poodles can be, and prone to black bear moments if she detects unsupervised treats within her reach. (She always tells on herself by staring right at you and standing completely still, waiting to see if you'll leave the room.)
She is very friendly but tends to give other dogs their space unless they approach with interest, in which case she'll initiate play time and get the zoomies. Lover of boiled eggs and part-time hoarder of socks. She is calm and collected most of the time but goes crazy for loose piles of soil and sand.
She prefers small play groups of 2-3 dogs and will quickly favor humans over dogs if the group gets too large and high-energy for her taste.
Matcha is a very shy and anxious border collie mix who opened up and learned to play by watching my girls! Such a brave sweetie!
King is an XL bully who was playful but didn't understand physical boundaries! Roxy helped teach him how to calm down and give space.
Roxy and Mosby match each other's energy and love playing tug and chase together! They are both well-adjusted, confident dogs and make excellent playmates!
Lucky is a young pup, curious about the world around him. Cleo provided him calm companionship and excitement when he showed interest and initiated play!
